(Sigal Chattah) – As you may have heard, the Nevada Republican “establishment” has recruited a “moderate” Republican, Tisha Black, to parachute into our GOP primary for attorney general at the last minute.

It’s unfortunate, but not totally unexpected.

It’s what they do when they know they can’t control a candidate who’s willing to stand up and actually FIGHT for you as a principled, constitutional conservative.

One of my supporters wrote a three-part series detailing our new reality – which, sadly, means we now have to use campaign money we’d hoped to spend beating Democrat incumbent Attorney General Aaron Ford to first win the GOP primary.

I haven’t been fighting for you for over two years now to simply roll over let some self-described “moderate” Republican and financial backer of Steve Sisolak, Harry Reid and Catherine Cortez Masto blow this opportunity for us to win back this seat.

“Tish the Squish,” as my supporter refers to her, has brought a knife to a gunfight.

It won’t end well for her.

Nor will it end well for Aaron Ford in November.

Strap down and buckle up.  The storm clouds are gathering. The “red wave” is building.  And we’re about to unleash Holy Hades!

“A Nevada conservative running for attorney general leans hard into her Israeliness”

Chattah’s brand: A tech-savvy immigrant from the Start-Up Nation, ready to fight for the rights of “all Nevadans,” as her website puts it.

Chattah is well-known in Nevada for her prominence as a lawyer in a range of actions against the state’s anti-COVID restrictions. Most notably, in the 9th Circuit, the most liberal federal court of appeals, she helped overturn the state’s ban on gatherings over 50 in houses of worship.

She is running virtually unopposed for the GOP nomination to unseat the incumbent Democratic attorney general, Aaron Ford, in November 2022. Nevada, which United States President Joe Biden won narrowly in the 2020 election, has become reliably purple, and there are no polls on the attorney general race.

Chattah also leans heavily into her Israeliness. She likes telling folks that she is the first Israeli American to run for a statewide office, in any state. … The ad, calling her “Israeli-born,” has gone viral.

It’s not just branding. An hour with Chattah in Washington’s Mayflower Hotel breakfast room is like an hour at a Tel Aviv cafe with an Israeli politician: easy transitions from policy to family and back again, peppered with unguarded revelations. This is not your standard-issue, wary-of-the-lamestream-media Republican candidate.

“The COVID cases are all constitutional cases,” she said. “I’m an Israeli immigrant. The whole point is to come to this country and everything is beautiful, and the Constitution is what protects us. If the Constitution doesn’t protect us, if America is no longer the land of opportunity, we might as well go back home.”

Chattah is all about alliances: She brought the Police Protective Association on board for an initiative against anti-Israel boycotts. Seeking to establish a museum on Holocaust and genocide, she allied with Armenian Americans. She also helped lead lobbying for passage this year of Nevada’s own state bill mandating Holocaust education.

In May 2020, Gilbert and Sigal Chattah, who’s running for attorney general as a Republican, sued Gov. Steve Sisolak over his decision to close churches. That lawsuit was successful after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Sisolak.

Las Vegas Review-Journal: “2 lawsuits — 1 seeking $200M — target CCSD’s student mask mandate”

On Friday, parents Jason Ruiz, Robert Parker and Erin Gomez filed a civil rights complaint in Clark County District Court on behalf of five children against the school district, Gov. Steve Sisolak and Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford.

For the Clark County lawsuit, plaintiffs are being represented by attorneys Sigal Chattah and Joey Gilbert.

“The perpetual mask mandates in Clark County on students, with no end in the near future, continues to violate our students’ constitutional rights,” Chattah said via email.

Las Vegas Sun (AP): “Federal courts impose new COVID-19 restrictions amid surge”

“The whole situation is very ironic,” said Chattah, a Republican candidate for state attorney general who is representing two parents in a lawsuit that charges a mask mandate ordered by Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak is unconstitutional.

The Democratic governor’s order requires students and school employees in the Las Vegas and Reno areas to wear masks on buses and inside school buildings, regardless of vaccination status. The lawsuit challenging them calls the governor’s orders “draconian” and says they will inflict emotional distress on schoolchildren and their parents.

Las Vegas Review-Journal: “Chattah cites COVID restrictions in campaign against Ford for AG”

A local attorney who has spent the last year suing the state over COVID-19 pandemic restrictions has gained support from some prominent state Republicans for her recently announced challenge to Attorney General Aaron Ford in 2022.

In an interview with the Review-Journal on Wednesday, Chattah said she felt the pandemic restrictions and shutdowns were the unconstitutional acts of a “totalitarian regime,” which spurred her to work pro bono on these lawsuits and, eventually, run for office.
